Dental Fillings
Caries is a disease characterized by demineralization of the inorganic portion and destruction of the organic substance of the tooth. As the carious lesion demineralize, it can turn into a cavitation(“cavity”). In order to restore the teeth from cavity, resin fillings, inlays/onlays, crown and bridge is done.
Root Canal Treatment
If the tooth decay is too large and has infected the pulp, root canal treatment needs to be done. Even root canal treated tooth can develop infection and needs to be retreated. Too late diagnosis can result in extraction of the tooth. Well diagnosed infected tooth can be treated by root canal retreatment, apicoectomy or tooth replantation.

Dr. Junghyun Kim, DDS, MS
General Dentist
Dr. Junghyun Kim earned his doctor of dental surgery degree at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York. Dr. Kim completed his residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York where he built his strength in every broad field of dentistry to be a super General Practitioner in all field of dentistry.
Dr. Kim worked in New York as an associate. He not only performed daily cavity treatment but focused his expertise in orthodontics and dental implant treatment.
Before going to dental school he majored in physics but also studied MRI imaging in the medical field. Having interdisciplinary field combined, he also applies these background in the dental field in treatment planning and influences his treatment philosophy.
